Gregoire Alexandre

Interesting photographer recommended by Brendan.
I love the huge paper origami and the inclusion of studio equipments in his photographs.. the tower fan, the odd railings, stands etc.

Names?

If you guys, someday in the future (and I hope we all do), start our own individual photographic business.. what will you call it?

Just a random thought, because it occurred to me that most photographers out there just go by (their name) photography/studios. While I think this business name template is very boring, it does have its fair share of pros and cons.

Pros - I like how my name will be attached to my business company name. My name will always be refreshed in peoples' minds when they mention my studio/business. And adding 'photography' and 'studios' behind, people from the outside circle will immediately have an idea of what kind of business establishment I'm running.

Cons - I find it too conventional and boring... and unless you're one of the top dogs, people will just forget your name/business name anyways. And besides, in this day and age, there are just too many people throwing the term 'photography' around.

I think if I were to come out with a business name, I will just go for something meaningful, perhaps reflective of what I'm trying to do, something different and something without my name in it.

What do you guys think?

First Issue

Hello 136,

It has been a little quiet recently, and our first issue of the photo journal is running late. But there's no need for panic alarms - we're definitely going to make this work.

So far, we've designed the layout for the photo journal (please check your emails), and now we just need some of the information and photos done up. Please send your write up to Jeremiah asap and he'll put them into the mock up, print a copy out and then we can arrange a meeting with our editor and let her brush and polish everything up.

As for the photos, we'll probably only be doing it next week after Jeremiah returns from Shanghai. Hopefully we can get everything out by mid April?

Cheers,
Desmond
